CETIL Sailing Team made its debut on the international stage this past month of June in the German Open and Italian Masters Championship. More than fifty boats from nine countries, both European and intercontinental, competed during three days under the shadow of the Dolomites, in Caldonazzo lake, in the north of Italy.
Six races were initially programmed, only five of which were completed due to the late arrival of the wind on Sunday. Three days of shifty, unstable gusts, standard in lakes like this one, left the duo formed by Martín Bermúdez and Beatriz Díaz sitting in fourth place overall after a well-fought battle, behind the Belgian, Italian and Norwegian teams who formed the podium.
The XLV Rafael Sanz Memorial was held in waters of Santander on the 7th and 8th of June – the fifth regatta of the national circuit brought together almost thirty boats from all around the country. The Race Committee was able to complete the programme thanks to a light-medium breeze in the bay both on Saturday and Sunday, which gave the sailors the chance to fight for gold over five races. CETIL Sailing Team closed the championship with a solid win when after a discard, the first, second, third and fourth places in the regattas gave them a three-point advantage over the second team. Martín and Beatriz continue to lead the national circuit, with just three competitions left to conclude it.

At home, the pair got back on the water in the San Juan lake, where tough heat and unstable wind conditions made the regatta course difficult to read. Four legs were disputed on Saturday and Sunday, in which a third, second and two first positions gave CETIL Sailing Team another victory. 2025 autonomic champions in Madrid.
The summer that lies ahead promises hard training sessions with all eyes set on Portugal’s European Championship. Two regattas over July and August are to be the final chance for adjustments and last touches, as the tram set for Gijón to compete against sixty boats on the first weekend of the month.
