Gold and Silver for Cetil

‘CETIL’ Sailing Team close a windy and rainy month of March with two medals under their belt.

The ‘LXXXIII Su Majestad El Rey’ trophy drew to a close on the 16th of March with a second place for the crew, after two intense days of competition in a thirty-boat fleet. Four legs were completed at the Real Club Mediterráneo in Málaga under tough wind conditions, in which the crew managed two second and two third places. They finally stood on the podium with a silver medal.

The first ‘Admiral of the Arsenal’ trophy was held at the Real Club de Regatas in Cartagena last weekend. Only one regatta was completed on Saturday due to the strong winds and heavy swell- leg that the crew finished in second place after a very disputed final downwind. Sunday was a sunny, 8-10kts day during during which the race committee was able to hold three regattas. A third, second and first place later, Martín Bermúdez and Beatriz Díaz were crowned winners of the trophy with a high level, thirty-five-boat fleet.

There now is one single competition left before the first qualifier in Melilla for the 2026 World Championships. The crew will travel to Marín, in Galicia before the Spanish National Championship in Easter.
