The challenge of sustainable mobility in Europe

The following article calls for reflection on the background and consequences of the decision taken in Europe on the propulsion method to be used by light-duty vehicles from 2035 onwards.
The author questions whether it is reasonable that the sole commitment for light vehicle mobility should be based on a single technology, based on bans rather than targets. He asks whether the ambition of the decision could be turned against us as it reduces, among other things, the use of the existing vehicle fuelling infrastructure that we have worked so hard to build, maintain and legislate for. It also highlights the inconsistency of the proposal from the perspective of creating a new dependency on the one technology selected.
